چکیده

Abstract This paper presents a robust assessment of debond in glass fibre-reinforced polymer composite structure with L-stiffener attachment. Towards this, the ultrasonic guided wave (GW) propagation based laboratory experiments have been carried out on stiffened panel piezoelectric transducers for excitation GWs and scanning laser Doppler vibrometer sensing GW propagation. To study changes caused by stiffener signal processing multi-point analysis has out. The proposed methodology consists two steps. Step 1 using full wavefield root mean square energy map-based approach to check presence debond. 2 point-wise measurements localization size estimation baseline free coefficient difference algorithm (SCDA). approaches are applied an in-depth experimental signals that provide information about interaction mentioned take advantage asymmetry damage. For SCDA there is no need full-wavefield measurements, healthy case as only few measurement points can be enough such structures.

Lamb Wave Based Monitoring of Plate-stiffener Deboding Using a Circular Array of Piezoelectric Sensors

In this paper we propose an efficient way of localization and parametric identification of metallic plate-stiffener debonding. A concept and experimental results based on a circular array of Piezoelectric Wafer Active Sensors (PWASs) is presented. Implementation of this circular array of PWASs combines the Lamb wave technique and symmetry breaking in the signal pattern to monitor the growth of ...

Ultrasonic measurement models for surface wave and plate wave inspections

A complete ultrasonic measurement model for surface and plate wave inspections is obtained, where all the electrical, electromechanical, and acoustic/elastic elements are explicitly described. Reciprocity principles are used to describe the acoustic/elastic elements specifically in terms of an integral of the incident and scattered wave fields over the surface of the flaw. As with the case of b...

Ultrasonic guided wave imaging for damage characterization

Guided wave imaging with a sparse array of inexpensive transducers offers a fast, reliable, and cost-efficient means for damage detection and localization in plate-like structures such as aircraft and spacecraft skins. As such, this technology is a natural choice for inclusion in condition-based maintenance and integrated structural health management programs. One of the implementation challeng...

Guided Wave Non-contact Ultrasonic for Nde

Non-contact ultrasonic, enables rapid testing of structures using ultrasonic tests that are not possible via conventional contact transducers. This paper reports on laser ultrasonic and air/gas coupled ultrasonic measurements that are performed remotely, do not require direct access to test area, do not need traditional ultrasonic coupling and do not have traditional C-scan fixture requirements...

Model-based in Situ Parameter Estimation of Ultrasonic Guided Waves in an Isotropic Plate

Most ultrasonic systems employing guided waves for flaw detection require information such as dispersion curves, transducer locations, and expected propagation loss. Degraded system performance may result if assumed parameter values do not accurately reflect the actual environment. By characterizing the propagating environment in situ at the time of test, potentially erroneous a priori estimate...
